Brass Fabrication

by

Over the years I’ve managed to collect a variety of brass locomotives for my scale model Pennsylvania Railroad along with some cabin cars and specialized rolling stock that will likely not appear in plastic. i never thought too much about how the models are made but here’s an extensive photo essay that represents the process. Be sure to read Jeff Lemke’s essay that appears above the photos for an intimate understanding of how this industry got started and evolved. (Photo used with permission).
