Train Talk in the Financial Times

November 26, 2011

A treasured friend who writes for what is one of the truly great newspapers in the world (take that you idiot editors at the New York Times) sent this link. I enjoy the diction in this story of building steam locomotives. “Fiendishly complicated” should make any model railroader sit up and take notice. Robert Winston, a biologist and BBC presenter is the subject of the story. He notes that it’s good for a scientist to learn how engineers think. You can see examples of his steam locomotives here.
